Scotch Whisky Tasting @ Delilah's
Learn about different types of scotch at Delilah's (2771 N. Lincoln Ave.) tonight. The event kicks off at 7pm with a tasting of Glenlivet single malts. At 10pm learn about vatted malt whisky with Compass Box. At midnight Chivas will be on hand to share its 18-year premium blended scotch. Ages 21+. Free. For more info call 773-472-2771.
Re-Thinking Soup @ Hull House
Soup and discussion about the topics of the day are on the menu at Hull-House Kitchen's Re-thinking Soup series. Today (and every Tuesday) from 12-1:30pm at the Jane Addams Hull-House Museum Residents' Dining Hall (800 South Halsted) come in for a hearty meal and a chat. Event is free, but donations are accepted.
BourbonPalooza @ Twisted Spoke
Bourbon maker Julian Van Winkle stops by the Twisted Spoke (501 N. Ogden Ave.) tonight for an evening of whiskey cocktails created by Nacional 27's Adam Seger and bourbon-inspired snacks. Also on hand will be Brian Ellison from Death's Door Spirits and Jimmy Russell from Wild Turkey. Beer lovers note: Twisted Spoke will be tapping their keg of Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout. Is it "whisky" or "whiskey"? Learn the nuances between scotch, bourbon, and Canadian whisky at this tasting event tonight at Five Star Bar (1424 W. Chicago Ave.). Simon Brookings from Laphroaig & Ardmore, Dan Tullio from Canadian Club, and Steve Cole from Small Batch Bourbons will lead the event. The debate kicks off at 9pm and includes a whisk(e)y tasting.
