World Kitchen Learning Series: Ten Classic French Sauces

Bearnaise, anyone? Learn to cook and work with ten French sauces tonight from 6-8:30pm at the Gallery 37 Center for the Arts, 66 E. Randolph Street. This class is offered through the City of Chicago's World Kitchen learning series. Admission is $30 and pre-registration is required.

Great Books Omnibus Release Party

The Breast Show Ever

Tonight at 8pm at the Subterranean, 2011 W. North Ave., Girlie-Q Productions presents The Breast Show Ever, a "boobies for boobies" burlesque fundraiser for the Lesbian Community Care Project and Be Bright Pink. Hosted by Ms. Bea Haven, the show features Cruel Valentine, Dizzy Lizzy Delicious, Ezra Poundable, Ms. Leslie Lee, Lula Houp- Garou, Maiden Sacrifice, Plucky Rosenthal, Salome Slaughter, Sauda Namir and Siren Jinx. Fractured Lens Video Festival @ Portage Theater

The Fractured Lens Video Festival happens this evening at the Portage Theater (4050 N. Milwaukee Avenue) at 8pm The event will feature two hours of video and film work by local film hobbyists and enthusiasts. Tickets are $6 (cash only!) and will be available at the door.

Clean Up at The Enterprising Kitchen's Bubble Bash

The Enterprising Kitchen helps more than 70 women who are unemployed and underemployed enter the workforce. Women help run a soap and body goods company to help them learn valuable work and life skills so they can transition into full-time and sustainable employment. To help raise money for their efforts, they'll be hosting The Bubble Bash tonight from 5:30 to 9:30pm at Architectural Artifacts (4325 N. Ravenswood). There will be a live band to listen to while you eat appetizers, drink cocktails, and bid on auction items. And even if you don't win anything in their raffle, you can always make a purchase of their great products from their web shop.

OK Go @ Double Door

Peter Bjorn & John @ Metro

They exploded on the scene with "Young Folks" (or "that whistling song"), then they released an obscure instrumental album, and now you can't escape their infectious experimental Swedish pop--whatever form it takes. Peter Bjorn & John come to the Metro tonight in support of their latest album, Living Thing. Opening for them is the charming Chairlift. This American Life Live Show @ AMC 21, City North, Webster Place

This American Life will be simulcasting a live show tonight at hundreds of movie theaters nationwide--locally it will be shown at the AMC River East 21 (Illinois and Fairbanks), City North (Western and Schubert), and Webster Place (Webster and Clybourn) beginning at 7pm.
