Sniffing and drinking is on the bill tonight at Fox & Obel, 401 East Illinois. From 6-7:30pm you will go from novice to not a novice when it comes to choosing and savoring wine. Admission is $25; reservations required.
Indie crooner Sam Beam and crew stop by Lakeshore Theater as part of a 10 show tour only played in intimate venues. The tour comes in support of Around the Well, a 2-CD/3-LP collection of rare tracks ranging from out-of-print to never-before-released. 3175 N. Broadway. 8pm.

The Chicago Public Library will host a free small business open house today from 10am until noon in the Business Department of the Harold Washington Library Center located at 400 S. State Street. The open house is designed to teach Chicagoans about the free resources available at the Library for those starting or growing a small business.
