The fine ladies behind Fly Bird and Sheriff Peanut have put together the second Constructor Craft Fair taking place at Fitzgerald's (6615 Roosevelt Road) in Berwyn today from 10am to 6pm. Come see many of the area's best handmakers, have a brew, and do that whole Shop Local thing.
So maybe you're really into Phish but, like, they won't be at Alpine Valley until like late June, dude. No worries, Strange Design will cure the fever. Smoke enough drugs and this cover band will make you stop jonesing Phish's jam band grooves for now. Also playing is Dr. Don and the Boogie Monsters. Lake Shore Drive closes to car traffic and opens to bicycles for the annual Bike the Drive, which benefits the Active Transportation Alliance (formerly the Chicagoland Bicycle Federation), a non-profit biking, walking and transit advocacy organization. The route starts at Grant Park, runs 7.5 miles north to Bryn Mawr and 7.5 miles south to the Museum of Science and Industry. 5:30 to 9:45am. Registration will be available the day of if the event does not sell out.
Brandish your clubs! C.U.D.G.E.L. [Chicago Urban Devils Golf Enthusiasts League] brings you the 4th Annual Memorial Day Golf Invitational. Registration begins at 1pm at The Map Room at Hoyne and Armitage. Space allows only 50 teams maximum [one golfer + one caddy = one team, yes you can swap back and forth]. Visually violent attire and creative cheating strongly encouraged.
