Facets Night School: Eat The Rich

Facets Cinematheque presents Facets Night School, a series of great cult films screening Saturdays at midnight through June 27. Tonight's film is the amazing film by The Comic Strip Eat the Rich, with a discussion of the film hosted by Facets' Lew Ojeda. Twitter Island

Today from 1pm to 3pm at Chicago Art Department, 1837 S. Halsted, artists Lauri Apple and Seth Gershberg present "Twitter Island," a social/art/psychology experiment in which 15-20 people communicate with each other anonymously and in the same room, using only Twitter. Come watch the action, and participate in a treasure hunt using actual tweets generated at the last Twitter Island. Free.

Matchitehew Assembly festival, Day 2 @ Co-Prosperity Sphere

Day two of two-day black metal/drone/noise festival Matchitehew Assembly continues today at the south side's Co-Prosperity Sphere (3219-21 South Morgan Street). Doors 4pm, show starts at 5, all ages. 11 acts, $25 for tickets, or $40 for a 2-day pass. Full band information at Transmission.

Too Much Light: Pride show @ Neo-Futurarium

The Neo-Futurists present the annual Pride Show editions of their long-running Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind. The ensemble will attempt to perform 30 queer plays in 60 straight minutes, with proceeds for the shows going to About Face Theatre and the Neo-Futurists. Picnics & Pies Fund-Raiser

Blue Sky Inn is holding its annual fund-raiser at Lush Wine & Spirits at 1257 S Halsted Street (312-738-1900). The bakery and nonprofit will auction off picnic baskets prepared by celebrity chefs, including Charlie Trotter, Ina Pinkney and Rick Bayless. Other activities include an amateur pie-baking contest, face painting for kids and wine tastings. The event begins at noon and ends at 5pm; admission is $10 in advance and $12 at the door for everyone over the age of 12. Tickets available here.

Little Dead Riding Hood @ Athenaeum Theatre

Chicago Tap Theatre presents Little Dead Riding Hood, a "Fairy Tale Tap Dance Opera" that explores what happens when fairy tale characters discover themselves after tiring of acting out the same old stories. Egyptrixx, DJ Slugo @ Abbey Pub

Fresh off collaborating on the track Freaks, released on the Its Always Places Like This EP out on Wide Records, Egyptrixx (Toronto, Wide) and DJ Slugo (Dance Mania, Databass) are bringing the booty bass, bassline, ghetto-house, jacking and juke tracks to the last 17+ show at the Abbey Pub. 3420 W. Metronome Celebration in Logan Square

This weekend marks the first Metronome Celebration in Logan Square — a music fest that not only promotes a variety of music (with 4 stages playing rock, folk, punk, and electronica) but also strives to have a green image. Saturday's music includes sets by Eliot Lipp, Future Rock, Apostle of Hustle and John Vanderslice.The fest takes place at Milwaukee at Armitage and Western from noon-10pm June 6th and 7th. USA Eagles Rugby Team vs. Wales @ Toyota Park

Printers Row Lit Fest

The Printers Row Lit Fest returns to celebrate "25 Years of the Book Fair and More." This year, featured authors will include Lynda Barry, Joe Meno, Haki Madhubuti, Harvey Pekar, Dave Eggers, Elizabeth Strout and many more, with exhibitions from as many local booksellers as you can count. It is a must-attend event for any book lover in Chicago. Admission to the Lit Fest is free, however specific events may charge an admission fee. Be sure to check the site for a schedule of events for both Saturday and Sunday.

Errol Flynn in The Prince and The Pauper @ Music Box

The Music Box Theatre brings back its weekend classic film matinees this month with a tribute to swashbuckler Errol Flynn, in honor of this 100th birthday. This weekend's film is The Prince and The Pauper from 1937. The film screens today and Sunday at 11:30am. Happy Ending Music & Reading Series

New York's Happy Ending Music and Reading Series comes to Chicago for one night only. The event will feature authors Arthur Phillips (The Song Is You), Nami Mun (Miles from Nowhere) and Joe Meno (The Great Perhaps) along with musician Daniel Knox and host Ben Greenman of The New Yorker. Experimental technology & music @ Lampo

The avant-garde art/music space Lampo (219 W. Chicago Ave., 2nd Floor) presents an evening featuring music, sound, and collaborative computer systems known collectively as Magic Matrix Mixer Mountain. Using digital technology against itself, the group of seven members (two linked via the internet) will combine to create (and repair) feedback in faulty computer systems. 9:30 p.m., $12.
