Talk, Tour and Taste @ French Pastry School

Loyola University Museum of Art will sponsor a tour of French Pastry School (226 West Jackson) tonight from 6-8pm, along with a tasting with Chef Jacquy Pfeiffer. Admission $20-$25.

Bastille Day Celebration @ Alliance Française

Celebrate Bastille Day, France's independence day, with the Alliance Française de Chicago and the French-American Chamber of Commerce today from 6pm to 8pm at 54 W. Chicago Ave. Enjoy hors-d'oeuvres, sweet and savory crêpes, wine, accordion music and more. Tickets are $10 online or at the door.

Chicago Outdoor Film Festival: Sunset Boulevard

Tonight is the kick-off evening for the 2009 Chicago Outdoor Film Festival. For the next 7 Tuesday evenings the city presents a free screening of a classic film at Butler Field in Grant Park (at Monroe and Lake Shore Drive). The films begin at sunset, but you'll probably want to arrive earlier to pick out a choice spot. Tonight's film is Billy Wilder's classic 1950 film Sunset Boulevard. Dodgeball @ Sheridan Park

Work out some of that aggression (well, don't overdo it) at the twice-weekly dodgeball game at Sheridan Park, 910 S. Tuesdays on the Terrace : Kevin Nabors @ MCA

If you like jazz, or you just like being outside on a Chicago summer afternoon, then make your way to the Museum of Contemporary Art for "Tuesdays on the Terrace." Have a seat by the band on the terrace, or bring a blanket and some friends to the lawn and take in the sounds of some of the city's most talented jazz musicians. Tonight's artist is Kevin Nabors. 220 East Chicago Ave. 5:30pm-8pm. Free.

Flatbear @ Double Door - Free Show!

Folk songstress Jentri Colello from Madison plays a free show at Double Door tonight as part of their "Rock N Roll Bailout" contribution to the economy... and your wallet. Ferris Bueller's Day Off: Movies in the Park

Ferris Bueller's Day Off is the second of three movies being screened at Uihlein Plaza, in the park behind the Chicago History Museum (1601 North Clark Street) this summer -- each features famous Chicago landmarks and neighborhoods. Admission is free, you're encouraged to bring your own picnic, and the movie starts at dusk. More information is available on the museum's website.
