It Came From The Neo-Futurarium: The Naked Killer

The Neo-Futurists continue their eighth annual "film fest" It Came From The Neo-Futurarium VIII: Legend of the Neo-Futurarium tonight with a staged reading of the 1992 Hong Kong film The Naked Killer (described by Wikipedia as "Basic Instinct meets Nikita with a touch of Vertigo"), directed by Neo-Futurist founder Greg Allen. The show starts tonight at 8pm at the Neo-Futurarium (5153 N. Ashland at Foster). Tickets are $10, or $8 for students with ID and repeat customers. The Entrance Band @ The Hideout

Guy Blakeslee brings his psych-rock/blues/folk trio, The Entrance Band, back to The Hideout tonight (1354 W Wabansia; 9:00pm; $10).

Blackhawks Rally @ United Center

Newly signed Blackhawks stars Marian Hossa and Tomas Kopecky will be introduced to the fans at a special welcoming rally this Thursday afternoon at the United Center. The festivities kick off at 3:30pm at the United Center, 1901 W. Madison.

Free Screening of "Food, Inc." @ Landmark Century Centre Cinema

Chipotle, of all places, is hosting a free screening of "Food, Inc." tonight at Landmark Century theater, Diversey and Clark, at 7:30pm. Get there early -- seating is first come, first served.

Dave McKean @ Challengers Comics

Artist/writer/director Dave McKean, who has collaborated with author Neil Gaiman on the film "Mirrormask" and TV series "Neverwhere", as well as on the graphic novels Mr. Punch and Sandman, will be signing at Challengers Comics (1845 N. Western Ave. 2R). Attendees can have signed ONE outside item, as well as all products purchased at the event. Prepaid attendees to the Portage Theater exhibition (going on that coming weekend) may have all purchased products signed, as well as FIVE outside items.

Invent the Future Workshop @ Riverside Township Hall

How should the region plan for the year 2040? This summer, the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) will hold dozens of free public workshops called GO TO 2040 "Invent the Future". Information you contribute at these meetings will help CMAP develop a preferred scenario that will best reflect the region's desired future.
