Facets Night School: The Story of Ricky

Facets Multimedia presents the second session of Facets Night School, midnight screenings of classic and cult movies with discussions about each film. Tonight's film is one of the most outrageously gory and violent films ever made, Riki Oh: The Story of Ricky. Facets employee Lew Ojeda will introduce the film and lead a post-screening discussion. Olive Oil/Vinegar Lecture @ Chicago History Museum

The Culinary Historians of Chicago will hold a lecture today at the Chicago History Museum, North & Broadway, at 10am to talk about the marriage of olive oil and balsamic vinegar throughout history. Windy City Rollers vs. Liberty Belles @ UIC Pavillion

Newberry Library Book Fair & Bughouse Square Debates

The Newberry Library gears up for their 25th annual book fair where more than 110,000 donated used books in 70 categories will be on sale, many for under $2, for booklovers to take home. Profits for the Fair go toward sustaining the Newberry's mission and allow for continued public access to library. Today the Fair will run 10am-6pm at 60 W. Walton; across the street in Washington Square Park, come relive the days of public soapbox oratory with Bughouse Square Debates running from 1pm-4pm. Meet the Bees @ Garfield Park Conservatory

Bzzz...join Garfield Park Conservatory for some free bee fun today. Volunteer beekeepers will be answering questions at education stations throughout the garden. Other kid and family activities include designing bee goggles, crafting a nectar cup, learning a groovy bee hive dance, and exploring the growing ingredients of a special flower scavenger hunt.
