Tonight a show takes place that was announced on the Official Lollapalooza Aftershow website by only showing the symbols for the bands Foo Fighters, Led Zeppelin and Queens of the Stone Age. It is rumored to be the first performance from new supergroup Them Crooked Vultures featuring Dave Grohl, Josh Homme, and John Paul Jones. 3730 N. Clark. Doors @10pm. 18+

Chicago's own Lollapalooza rocks Grant Park again for a fifth year. Tonight's headliners are The Killers and Lolla founder Perry Farrell's Jane's Addiction. The music festival runs from 11am to 10pm. Three-day and single-day passes are available on Lollapalooza's website.
Carrotmob Chicago, a group of consumers who band together to spend money at socially responsible businesses, is putting its buying power behind Fox & Obel. The mob plans a "buycott" or reverse boycott from noon until 6pm: they're encouraging local consumers to visit Fox & Obel for their food needs, and the store, in return, will use part of the proceeds to continue to reduce its carbon footprint.
