Facets Night School: Harold and Maude

Facets Multimedia presents the second session of Facets Night School, midnight screenings of classic and cult movies with discussions about each film. Tonight's film is Hal Ashby's Harold and Maude, with Bud Cort and Ruth Gordon as an unlikely screen pairing. Facets employee Dan Mucha leads a post-screening discussion. Rollin' Outta Here Naked: A Big Lebowski Burlesque

Vaudezilla presents "Rollin' Outta Here Naked: A Big Lebowski Burlesque," at 10pm tonight and every Saturday in September at the Gorilla Tango Theatre, 1919 N. Milwaukee Ave. -- as well as at Lebowski Fest. Featuring dances inspired by the cult classic film, performers Red Hot Annie, Wham Bam Pam, Donna Touch, Bonny Babs and Maria May I will have you out of your element in no time. Sometimes Store Grand Opening

When life hands you lemons, you... set up an impromptu vintage clothing store in your ex-boyfriend's bedroom in the apartment you once shared together to fund your upcoming media project. Right? Right! At least that's what Venus writer Christine Bejasa decided to do when her ex moved out of their Pilsen apartment and she needed funds for her online magazine start-up.

The Sometimes Store's grand opening happens today from 11am to 7pm at 913 W Cullerton, on the first floor. True to its name, the store won't always be open. But that's all the more reason to attend the grand opening today. That, and it's guaranteed that nothing in this, the "sharpest collection of vintage clothes you've ever laid eyes on," will be over $15.

Unabridged Bookstore ARC Giveaway

Unabridged Bookstore in Lakeview has a ton of Advanced Review Copies of books lying around and instead of letting them lie there, are giving them away to anyone who makes a purchase today (and perhaps Sunday, too). These are all review copies of new books, most of which have not yet been published, so you'll get to be the cool one knowing what happens in the hot new title before anyone else does.
