Before the Wells Run Dry: Ensuring Sustainable Water Supplies for Illinois

Illinois' water supplies are finite, fragile and under pressure. Maria Gaspar @ MCA's 12 x 12 Gallery

The Museum of Contemporary Art will host Chicago artist Maria Gaspar as she discusses her work on view in the 12 x 12 gallery, which festively represents the immigrant body and Mexican heritage. "Cooking History" Film @ CIFF

The movie Cooking History will be shown today at 5pm at the AMC River East 21 as part of the Chicago International Film Festival. Admission $5.

Society of Midland Authors: Arnie Bernstein, Richard C. Lindberg & Dominic Pacyga

Three local historians come to the Society of Midland Authors to talk about the process of researching and writing history books. The featured speakers are Arnie Bernstein, author of Bath Massacre: America's First School Bombing, Richard C. Lindberg, author of The Gambler King of Clark Street: Michael C. McDonald and the Rise of Chicago's Democratic Machine and Dominic Pacyga, author of the recently published Chicago: A Biography. The talk is free, however donations will accepted to help pay for this and future programs. A social hour starts at 6pm with the talk starting at 7pm at the Cliff Dwellers Club, 200 S. Michigan Ave., 22nd floor.

Andrew Belle @ SPACE

Andrew Belle is a singer/songwriter and part-time Chicagoan. His music could be in the same family line as The Fray, with heartfelt pop that would be perfect for television drama. In fact, his song "I'll Be Your Breeze" has already appeared in an episode of 90210. Tonight he'll be opening for Jer Coons at SPACE. 8pm. Dance for the Camera Film Screening @ Cultural Center (FREE)

Dance for the Camera International Film Screening - Character Studies. This free international film screening features films by Pina Bausch, Michael Jackson and other artists, and explores themes of character, gender and personality.
