While we kind of hate the word "comeback," there's not much else you can call the recent resurgence of disco on our collective dance music radar. That's why a night devoted to new trends and paying homage to the classic sounds has pretty much been due for a while now. Trick Disco is a new monthly night on Third Fridays at Subterranean Lounge (2011 W. North) with residents Sparkletone, OCD Automatic, Le Principle - one of filter disco's newest rising stars - and video provided by Hey! Cliche! Video Club. Friday, Feb 19th features locals Only Children - who've been gaining buzz over their recent edits and remixes - and special guest Ghosts of Venice, all the way from the UK. The party starts at 10pm and is 21+. $5 gets you in the door and Sub-T is offering $3 White Belgian Draft Beer and $4 Cintadell Apple Vodka Cocktails to warm you up on what's bound to be a snowy night.

Amelia Klem Osterud is reading from her new (and first) book, "The Tattooed Lady: A History" at Quimby's Bookstore (1854 West North Avenue) at 7pm.
"Tattooed ladies were a part of forgotten American history, often dismissed in print as second-rate circus freaks or as monstrous, yet sexy anomalies," she explains.
There is shockingly little documentation recounting the women (and men) who launched the cultural movement of tattooing. Publicity photos show up in general tattooing books, but the real stories behind these sideshow marvels remain a mystery, until now. The first book of its kind, The Tattooed Lady explores the duality of life on- and offstage for these gutsy women.
