Diez de Marzo Rally Para Derechos De Immigrantes

The annual march for immigrants' rights organized by the March 10th Movement. This year the theme is "National Coming out the Shadows Day." The march will begin at Union Park at 2pm and will end at Federal Plaza.

Westboro Baptist Church @ UIC, Newberger Hillel Center, National Committee Office

The group that brought the world www.godhatesfags.com, and the same church that picketed outside of Iraq veterans funerals will be coming to Chicago today. Several GLBTQ groups are planning pickets and protests against the Westboro Baptist Church.

The Westboro Baptist Church will be local hillels in the morning, and various other locations throughout the day. RSVP on Facebook and go here for more details.

No Foam Chicago Fundraiser @ Lemmings

No Foam Chicago is having a fundraiser tonight from 6pm-8pm at Lemmings, 1850 N. Damen Ave. A $20 cover will get you two drink tickets and light appetizers.

TOM RUBNITZ SURPRISE! @ Flaxman Theater

SAIC's new film screening program, Eye and Ear Clinic, is showing rare and videos by queer artist Tom Rubnitz tonight from 6-8pm. Rubnitz was born in Chicago but spent the 1980s making experimental videos both about and starring some of the key figures in the New York underground drag scene. Pop and camp hideously collide in a brightly colored smudged frenzy of grotesque fairies and drag terrorists, food products and plastic dolls. This screening is free and open to the public at 6pm tonight at SAIC's Flaxman Theater: 112 S. Michigan, Room 1307.

punkplay @ Steppenwolf


Gregory Moss
's punkplay, about "two sort of marginal adolescent boys growing up in the suburbs who latch on to punk rock and use it to find an identity outside of the mainstream," is a Pavement Group production, going up as part of Steppenwolf Theatre Company's new Visiting Company Initiative, Garage Rep. Read the Gapers Block interview with Moss here. The show starts at 8pm in the Merle Reskin Garage Theatre, 1624 N. Halsted. Tickets are $20 and available here or by calling (312) 335-1650. Student tickets are $12. Wednesday performances are "pay what you can."

Califone @ Lincoln Hall

Califone plays tonight at Lincoln Hall. The band released All My Friends are Funeral Singers last year. Experimental rockers Roommate opens.

Soup and Bread @ Hideout

The Hideout (1354 W. Wabansia) holds its Soup and Bread weekly fundraiser tonight for a local food-related charity where local chefs and foodies prepare a selection of soups for your casual slurping from the bar's crock pots. Donations encouraged. Event runs 5:30-8pm.
