This evening is the latest Ukulele Cabaret evening at Silvie's Lounge (1902 W. Irving Park), where ukulele players are invited to show up and play songs related to the evening's theme. Tonight's theme is UKE SOUNDTRACKS: television, movie, theater music, they're all allowed. The evening starts at 9pm tonight, and there's no cover charge. Players that RSVP before tonight will be given priority, so you might want to check in with the group's Facebook or MySpace page before tonight.
This week's Two-Hour Comedy Hour is being invaded by Comedians You Should Know: Drew Michael, Danny Kallas, Marty DeRosa and Michael Sanchez. This weekly stand-up comedy showcase, hosted by Trey Mowder, features a different lineup each week. There's no cover for the 21+ show -though a $5 donation is accepted - and it runs from 7-9pm at Gallery Cabaret, 2020 N. Oakley (near Western and Milwaukee, just off the Blue Line stop). Guests are encouraged to arrive early.
Indie in the Windy City Handcrafted Market is a place where crafters and artists can gather to sell their wares. They'll be hosting another market today at The Chelsea House, 920 W. Wilson Ave, from 10am-4pm. 20% of all sales from the Indie Market will go to help support Cornerstone Community Outreach.
My My My celebrates the release of its new record, Leather Silk, tonight at the Bottom Lounge, 1375 W. Lake St. Green Sugar, How Far To Austin, Josh & The Empty Pockets and Cobalt & The Hired Guns open; Ryan Manno of JBTV MCs.

Canasta plays not one but two record release shows tonight at Schubas, 3159 N. Southport. The 7pm early show is 18 and over and features Gregory and the Hawk opening. The 10:30pm late show is 21 and over and features Brighton MA as the opener. Both shows are $14 in advance or at the door, and include a copy of Canasta's new album, The Fakeout, the Tease and the Breather.
Whether you like to ride them, display them, or listen to Tom Waits rasp about them, there's something for everyone on National Train Day. Union Station (210 South Canal Street) celebrates 11am-4pm with a variety of events and displays.
