Tonight at The Opportunity Shop in Hyde Park come see performances by Squat the Condos, Jesus Crisis, Lakesigns, and The Names that Spell. Show starts at 7:30. Free and open to the public.
This week's Two-Hour Comedy Hour, hosted by Trey Mowder, features comedians Beth Stelling, Joe Motisi, Subhah Agarwal, Matt Jones and Liza Treyger. This free show features a fresh mix of comedians each week. There's no cover for the 21+ show -though a $5 donation is accepted - and it runs from 7-9 pm at Gallery Cabaret, 2020 N. Oakley (near Western and Milwaukee, just off the Blue Line stop). Guests are encouraged to arrive early.
Theater Oobleck and The Neo-Futurists present a one-night-only remount of Greg Allen's show The Complete Lost Works of Samuel Beckett As Found In An Envelope (partially burned) In A Dustbin In Paris Labeled "Never to be performed. Never. Ever. EVER! Or I'll Sue! I'LL SUE FROM THE GRAVE!!!" A hilarious presentation of the late playwright's final works (or not), the show is performed tonight at Steppenwolf Garage (1624 N. Halsted, near North Avenue) at 5pm. Tickets are $15 or pay-what-you-can.

Come out tonight to the opening of The Pentagon Saves the World, from 7pm to 11pm. Featuring works in video, photography, sculpture and film by Deborah Stratman, Jim Zimpel, Jesse Avina, Daniel Baird, Jake Myers and The Pentagon Education Collective. This exhibition examines the effectiveness and importance of heroics in contemporary American culture such as the archetypes of heroic athletes, soldiers, astronauts, cowboys and other saviors.
