Eric Fleischauer: POST-CURSOR @ threewalls

Come out tonight to threewalls, 119 N. Peoria #2C to see Eric Fleischauer's exhibition POST-CURSOR at 6pm. It featurse a series of videos and an artist book that reflects the scattered nature of online search queries, shortened attention spans, and random thoughts, that are symptomatic of the excessive availability of information.

Beer Hoptacular @ Aragon

Sample over 200 craft beers at Beer Hoptacular, which runs today and tomorrow at the Aragon Ballroom, 1106 West Lawrence. Food, entertainment, and educational sessions (drunks need to learn, too!) about the art of beer await you. Tickets $45 ($55 at the door). Runs 6:30-10:30pm.

Tom Parish @ Gruen Galleries

Gruen Galleries (226 West Superior Street) hosts opening for Tom Parish from 6pm to 9pm. Working with oils on canvas, Parish paints scapes from Venice.

Jerome Powers and Heidi Van Wieren @ Roy Boyd Gallery

Come to Roy Boyd Gallery (739 N. Wells) from 5pm to 7pm to see the new work of Jerome Powers and Heidi Van Wieren. Jerome Powers combines the austerity of minimalism with a distinctly humanist sensibility by using common materials like hair and pencil. Heidi Van Wieren fascinated by captured and layered light uses Elmer's Glue and ink to emphasize these qualities by building up layers. Exhibition runs through July 20th.

Toots Zynsky @ Habatat Gallery

Through July 17th, Habatat Gallery (222 West Superior Street) exhibits Toots Zynsky's new glass work. The opening reception is tonight from 5pm to 8pm, filet de verre, the process of pulling glass threads from hot glass cane, has earned Zynsky international acclaim.

Sense Objects @ Noble and Superior Projects

Come on out to Noble and Superior Projects from 6pm to 10pm tonight, right off the Chicago Blue Line at 1418 W. Superior St. Apt 2R. This exhibition features the work of Kate O'Neill, whose photography series Third Law depicts constructed performances addressing the materiality of banal materials through futile gestures. Rebecca Kressley's installation ON THE SOUTH LOCK OVER SHINE conjures sensuous experiences through careful arrangements of materials that subtly decay and collapse over time.

Rock for Kids' Poster Artist Interviews w/ Strawberry Luna, Hero Designs

If you've ever wanted to know more about your favorite show posters, tune in today at 1pm at the Rock for Kids' website to pose questions to rock poster artists. The nonprofit's new interview series launches this week and continues today with Strawberry Luna and Hero Design Studio (1pm) and then Geoff Peveto of the Decoder Ring on Wednesday, June 9th (1pm). Clay Hayes from gigposters.com will be interviewing the artists, and fans can ask their own questions via text and webcam. During the interviews, Rock for Kids will launch online auctions of some out-of-print and band-signed posters. You can participate in the chat by signing up for a Vokle account or just logging in with your Twitter account while the interview is going on at RockforKids.com.

Camino by Peggy Robinson @ Gallery Cabaret

Come out tonight from 7pm to 10pm to Gallery Cabaret, 2020 N Oakley to view new work by Peggy Robinson. Up through July 4th, Camino presents a sketchbook diary documenting her pilgrimage to Spain's Camino de Santiago de Compostela depicted through rapid fleeting impressionistic sketches and sensitive renderings. They describe the experience as learning through observative patience.

Chicago Eastside Millennium Art Festival

Continuing on through June 6th from 10am to 5pm, the New Eastside Artworks present Chicago Eastside Millennium Art Festival off of Lake Street and Michigan Avenue. This festival offers original works from 150 juried artists working in ceramics, fiber, glass, jewelry, sculpture, mixed media, painting, drawing, photography, wood and furniture. Eulalio Fabie de Silva @ Sapere Art Gallery

Come out tonight at 7pm to Sapere Art in the Flat Iron Arts Building, 1579 Milwaukee Avenue, 3rd Floor Studio, 341. Bay Area Figurative and Plein Air Painter Eulalio Fabie de Silva will be performing live painting. Friday night will be spontaneous works on paper modeled after masters works and Saturday will be a live model setting.

The Interview Show @ Hideout

Hot and Heavy Burlesque Does This is Spinal Tap @ The Viaduct

Who doesn't want to see a live burlesque performance set to the tune of Spinal Tap's "Big Bottom"? That's just one of the numbers offered tonight by Hot and Heavy Burlesque at the opening night of their live theatrical tribute to This is Spinal Tap. The show runs for four nights at the Viaduct (3111 N. Western Ave.), and tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.

All in the Timing @ the Greenhouse Theater

The Organic Theater Company presents All in the Timing by David Ives. All in the Timing, a wacky collection of six situational episodes where three literary chimpanzees named Milton, Swift and Kafka; a conman; black holes and the resurrective death of Leon Trotsky implore the viewers to rethink the simple concept of a play. His sarcastic humor is sure to outwit the most keen of his audiences. The show opens tonight at the Greenhouse Theater, 2257 N Lincoln Ave., and runs through June 24. Hubbard Street Dance Chicago Summer Series @ Harris Theater
