Red Door's 10th Annual Gimme Shelter Walk

Exercise for the pups, rabbits and kittehs at Red Door's 10th Annual Gimme Shelter Walk for the Animals today from10am to noon (rain or shine), at Chicago's Indian Boundary Park at 2500 West Lunt. Admission $15 ($5 for kids). T-shirt, food, entertainment and access to a doggy cool-off pool included.

Chicago Blues Festival

The Chicago Blues Fest returns again to Grant Park for a long weekend of music that is just so Sweet Home Chicago. See a full schedule of Sunday's performances at Explore Chicago. As always, the Blues Festival is FREE. Music runs from 11:30 a.m. - 9:30 p.m.

Rock & Roll Cinema: Rock 'n' Roll High School @ Empty Bottle

The Empty Bottle presents the latest in their Rock & Roll Cinema series of film screenings. Tonight's film is Rock 'n' Roll High School, the Roger Corman/Ramones classic from 1979. Artist Books and Original Drawings @ Home Gallery

Come on out this afternoon from 12pm to 3pm to Home Gallery, 1407 E. 54th Pl for the closing brunch. This exhibition features the drawings, sketchbooks, and artist's books from Michael Brehm, Amanda Vahamaki & Michelangelo Setolo from Souvlaki Circus, Anders Nilsen from Big Questions and Doug Shaeffer.

Northcenter Ribfest

Northcenter's annual Ribfest runs from noon to 10pm at the intersection of Lincoln, Damen and Irving Park. Enjoy barbecue and other food from more than two dozen vendors. Tell Your Friends, Holding Mercury, The Dig, Ceiling Stars, The Shams Band, These United States, Langhorne Slim

"Cosmic Images: Beyond Beauty" Panel Discussion

Tonight, the School of the Art Institute is hosting a panel discussion titled "Cosmic Images: Beyond Beauty." The discussion brings together four professionals in astrophysics and cosmology to discuss their studies and interpretations of photographs of space, and how these photographs shape our understanding of the cosmos. The discussion begins at 7pm at the SAIC Ballroom (112 S. Michigan Ave.) and is free and open to the public.

Deep Blue Sea @ Town Hall Pub

Running from June 13th to the 22nd at 7:00pm, Town Hall Pub, 3340 N Halsted St presents Deep Blue Sea directed by Jason Economus. Deep Blue Sea is a short play that stars Roberta and Danny, the combustible and combative pair. Grasping at stability, they indulge in a perverse and mesmerizing mating ritual which renders them raw and heart breakingly tender. Eli "Paperboy" Reed, The Constellations, Dirty Diamonds, East of Eden Soul Express @ Empty Bottle

The Constellations bring their Southern Gothic rock to the Empty Bottle tonight along with Eli "Paperboy" Reed, local GB faves Dirty Diamonds, and East of Eden Soul Express. Tickets are $12.
