Die Antwoord @ Double Door

The South African trio Die Antwoord comes to the Double Door tonight (1572 N. Milwaukee). The band mixes elements of Zef, a South African term that describes a modern, trashy style mixed with out of date cultural elements, with rap, hip-hop, and other genres. Veggie Bingo @ Hideout

The fine folks who brought you the weekly fundraiser soup-eating slurp-a-thon Soup and Bread (along with NeighborSpace) have taken their interests to a new activity...bingo. Veggie Bingo runs every Wednesday at the Hideout (1354 W. Wabansia). Event begins at 6pm; cards are $1 each, or 6 for $5. Proceeds benefit Chicago community gardens. Event runs weekly through September 29.

Sweet Treat @ Beauty Bar

DJ Shellster and DJ White Lightnin' (aka Transmission staffers Michelle Meywes and Lisa White) are back together for Sweet Treat at Beauty Bar. With Pitchfork Music Festival just a couple of days away, they'll be playing music from artists playing the fest, and getting you ready with a bunch of giveaways! Grant Park Orchestra @ Millennium Park

Tonight the Grant Park Music Festival presents a program of infectious melodies and vivid harmonies of two Russian masters includes Tchaikovsky's work inspired by Shakespeare's magical last play, The Tempest, and his Variations on a Rococo Theme, plus Stravinsky's ballet about a puppet come to life at a country fair, Petrushka. 6:30pm. Pritzker Pavilion. Free.

Grant Park Orchestra with Xian Zhang @ Millennium Park

The Grant Park Music Festival continues tonight as Chinese-American conductor Xian Zhang makes her Chicago debut in a program featuring the great Finnish composer's heroic symphony, the Orchestral Suite from Prokofiev's opera The Love for Three Oranges, and Antiphony, a recent work by Chinese composer Chen-Yi. 6:30pm. Pritzker Pavilion. Free.
