Rooftop Summer Soiree to Fight Pediatric Cancer @ The Southern

The Southern is partnering with the Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation to throw a charitable summer soiree tonight. The rooftop celebration will feature hors d'oeuvres, Effen vodka cocktails and tropical music. The event runs from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Cost to attend is $30 in advance or $35 at the door. Jackie Brown @ Film Center

Fresh @ Film Center

Fresh is a film that brings a little sunshine to the growing food movement. Director Sofia Joanes explores the rebel industry of pesticide and hormone free farms that seek to create a food product that is good for us, the environment, and the plants and animals that provide it.
Screening starts at 8:45 pm. Tickets are $10 general admission, $7 for regular students, $4 for SAIC students, and $5 Film Center members. Tickets can be purchased through the Film Center's box office or their website.

Juggalos 101 @ Hungry Brain

Derek Erdman and Jenny Benevento present Juggalos 101, a guide to Insane Clown Posse fans, at the Hungry Brain, 2319 W. Belmont Ave., tonight at 9pm. Fred Lonberg-Holm @ MCA's Tuesdays on the Terrace

Every Tuesday during the summer the Museum of Contemporary Art presents free live jazz concerts from some of the city's most legendary and innovative musicians. Tonight's performance features cellist Fred Lonberg-Holm. Grab some friends and a blanket for a relaxing evening on the garden lawn, or make a night of it with a reservation at Puck's. Rhythm World Student Showcase @ Museum of Contemporary Art

The second performance in the Chicago Human Rhythm Project's annual festival of American tap dance and contemporary percussive arts will feature students faculty, and professionals participating in Rhythm World classes and workshops. This informal showcase takes place at theMuseum of Contemporary Art's MCA Stage (220 E. Chicago Ave.). A $5 donation is suggested.
