Tomeka Reid @ MCA's Tuesday on the Terrace

Every Tuesday during the summer the Museum of Contemporary Art presents free live jazz concerts from some of the city's most legendary and innovative musicians. Tonight's performance features cellist Tomeka Reid. Grab some friends and a blanket for a relaxing evening on the garden lawn, or make a night of it with a reservation at Puck's. Ice Cream 101

Summer's over, but ice cream's still delicious. So learn to make your own! In this class, taught by Sunny from the food blog Smart Cabbage, you'll learn about -- and taste! -- the difference between sorbet, sherbet, frozen yogurt, ice cream and custard. You'll leave with some great recipes that will work with or without an ice cream maker. I scream, you scream... well, you know. $10 class fee includes samples and instructional materials. Ben Russell's Artist Talk @ MCA

Come out at 6:00pm today to the MCA, 220 E. Michigan Ave, Ben Russell will directing an Artist Talk: Illustrated by a Selection of Moving Images. Ben Russell curates a film series featuring Forcefield's Third Annual Roggabogga Motion Picture, Ferdinand Zecca's The Red Spectre, Kenneth Anger's Invocation of My Demon Brother, Timothy Asch and Napoleon Chagnon's Children's Magical Death, Gerard Holthuis's Marsa Abu Galawa, Ben Rivers' This Is My Land and Gunvor Nelson's My Name is Oona.

Post War + Contemporary Art Sale @ Wright
