Seattle's Mt. St. Helens Vietnam Band (MSHVB) is coming to Chicago "fresh on the heels" of the release of their new album Where The Messengers Meet. They'll be performing at Empty Bottle, 1035 North Western Ave., on Thursday, Sept. 16, 9:30pm. Tickets are $5. 21+

Author Audrey Niffenegger reads from her latest, The Night Bookmobile, at the Harold Washington Library, 400 S. State St., tonight at 6pm. The event is free, but space is limited and admission is first come, first served.
If you love art, poetry and a good writing prompt, check out an evening of poetry "in conversation with" the exhibit Mano/Mundo/Corazón: Artists Interpret La Lotería.
