Rocktoberfest at Rockit

From Thursday, September 30th through Sunday, October 3rd, Rockit Bar and Grill will be celebrating Rocktoberfest, a hip take on the autumnal German celebration. They'll be serving up gigantic soft pretzels, mini brats with tangy sauerkraut, bockwurst with red cabbage and spaetzle, and over-sized slices of German chocolate cake. Wash it all down with a keepsake 32 ounce Rocktoberfest mug, which you can take home with you and remember all the good times you had at Rocktoberfest...which may be tricky if you refill your mug! Rocktoberfest is happening at Rockit's River North location (22 West Hubbard Street) and their Wrigleyville location (3700 N. Clark Street) too.

The Clean @ Bottom Lounge

Old-school New Zealand art-punk heroes The Clean reconvene for a tour behind their recent album, Mister Pop. Opening up are beloved local rock crew Mannequin Men. Doors open at 8pm and the show begins at 9pm. For more information and tickets, check out the Bottom Lounge site. 1375 W Lake St..

SHADOWPLAY @ Rodan

Come out to Rodan Lounge, 1530 N. Milwaukee Ave. at 10pm tonight! Hosted by Rolan Vega, featuring DJ Sets by Sandra Nazz and Omar Padron from Nova Feedback and Erick Jimenez from Shadowplay and Polarlicht. It's free all night, no cover! For information, please click here.

Gayngs @ Metro

A supergroup is always a tricky proposition for live performances. If they're all there, it's a rare chance to see such a convergence, and some top-notch performers are all getting their groove on at once. If they bring a skeleton crew, you're bound to feel disappointed. Luckily, Gayngs, the Minnesota-based smooth-rock Voltron of Bon Iver, P.O.S., Solid Gold, and members of Megafaun and Rosebuds will have a majority of the, er, gang with them at the Metro (including the rapping delight of erstwhile falsetto crooner Justin Vernon, whose performances on big single "The Gaudy Side of Town" and R. Kelly-tinged closer "The Last Prom On Earth" are both showstoppers). Tickets are $19 advance, $21 day of show; 18 and up, doors at 8, show at 9, 3730 N. Clark St.
