Innervation Dance Cooperative's "Gods, Monsters, and Heroes" @ Theater Wit

Innervation Dance Cooperative presents "Gods, Monsters, and Heroes," a contemporary rock ballet based on Greek myths such as The Birth of Zeus, The Creation and Destruction of Medusa, The Sirens, and Orpheus and Euridice, set to music by popular artists including Pink, Feist, Coldplay, and Beck. The performance takes place at 2:30pm at Theater Wit, 1229 W. Belmont. Tickets are $20 for adults, or $15 for students and seniors. Miike Snow @ Riviera Theatre

Swedish experimental pop-trio Miike Snow brings their hooky dance beats and insane likability to Chicago for a good old-fashioned romp on the synth. The band packs improvised mixes and dance-friendly songs and will unload them in Riviera Theatre (4746 N Racine Ave) at 8pm tonight. Mainstage Theatre's "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare" (Abridged) @ O'Malley Theatre

The Complete Works of William Shakespeare are long, so Mainstage Theatre presentsa 90-minute roller coaster of Shakespeare. The performance begins at 2 pm at O'Malley Theatre, 430 S. Michigan Ave. Tickets are $6 for students, $10 for adults.

Nick Lowe @ Old Town School of Folk Music

The Old Town School of Folk Music presents a concert by Nick Lowe & His Band, with opening act Geriant Watkins. The concert starts tonight at 7pm. Brazilian Music Festival @ Nichols Hall

The Music Institute of Chicago (MIC) presents its second annual Brazilian Music Festival, featuring MIC ensemble-in-residence Orquestra de Samba performing the music of Brazilian giants Pixinguinha, Antonio Carlos Jobim, and Heitor Villa Lobos. Brazilian guest artist Dill Costa, along with MIC faculty artists Jim Setapen, Julia Miller, and Fiona Queen, will explore the relationship between Brazilian popular and classical music. Chicago Marathon

What this means for the estimated 45,000 people coming to our fair city to run 26.2 miles throughout the streets of Lakeview, Old Town, Greektown, Chinatown, etc.: that they can succeed at a grueling test of their strength. What it means for us is that a lot of bus lines will be rerouted into the early afternoon. Event starts 7:20am at Grant Park.

The Future of Food @ Chicago History Museum

Bucktown Apple Pie Contest @ Holstein Park Fieldhouse
