Kit Kat Lounge and Supper Club 10 Year Anniversary Party

Me-ow. It has been ten years since the glamorous Kit Kat Lounge and Supper Club opened its doors on Halsted Street and an extravagant celebration is certainly in order. With a decade's worth of marvelous martinis, creative cuisine and dancing DIVAS to honor, the public is invited for an evening of celebratory sipping, birthday cupcakes and the chance to win box seats to see Lady Gaga live in concert (yes, the real one). Tonight free-flowing signature martinis and Effen cocktails will be offered from 6 to 8pm, as Kit Kat's bar team shake up and serve their "Top Ten 'Tinis" from the last ten years. Executive Chef Mark Kasper will provide complimentary passed appetizers and birthday cup cakes to all celebrants. Performances by the legendary Kit Kat "Divas" will take place every 10 minutes--Traci Ross, Kathryn Cole and Madame X will shimmy and sing to music by Madonna, Shakira, Whitney Houston, Diana Ross, Tina Turner, Cher, Britney Spears and Lady Gaga. Story Club @ Uncommon Ground on Clark

Story Club, a monthly open mic storytelling series, combines the spontaneity of an open mic with featured readings at Uncommon Ground (3800 N. Clark). Archie Powell & the Exports @ Darkroom

HEAVEmedia.com and 4Ohm Entertainment Group are teaming up to bring the holiday sensation Jesus V. Santa: the Battle Rages On. Archie Powell & the Exports, Son of the Sun, Color Radio, and Farewell Flight team up for a rock extravaganza at the Darkroom with HEAVE's own DJ Miguel spinning between sets. 2210 W Chicago Ave, tickets are $5 in advance, $8 at the door. Sound Opinions Movie Night: Don't Look Back

The Unstable Object @ Gene Siskel Film Center

The Gene Siskel Film Center, 164 N. State St., presents a preview screening of The Unstable Object, Daniel Eisenberg's latest film that explores the relationship and effect that objects have on both producers and consumers. Baking for the Troops @ Kenmore Studio

Appliance manufacturer Kenmore and The Food Network's Sunny Anderson are hosting a kick-off party event for "Baking for the Troops," a program that will send up to 250,000 cookies to deployed troops. From noon to 6pm at the Kenmore Studio (678 N Wells), you can enjoy cookies, meet Sunny (from noon-1pm only), decorate ornaments, and send personal messages overseas to troops. The event will also be broadcast live on Facebook.

Vanessa Place and Jennifer Karmin @ Green Lantern Gallery

The Pilot Light reading series at Green Lantern Gallery brings together writers at varying stages of their career, each reading from their own work, then engaging in discussion. Tomorrow night's reading features Vanessa Place and Jennifer Karmin. Vanessa Place is a writer, a lawyer who works with sex offenders, and co-director of Les Figues Press. Jennifer Karmin co-curates the Red Rover Reading Series and is a founding member of the public art group Anti Gravity Surprise. She teaches creative writing to immigrants at Truman College and works as a Poet-in-Residence for the Chicago Public Schools. She is the author of Aaaaaaaaaaalice, a book of poetry. Idiots and Angels with Director Bill Plympton In-Person @ The Music Box

Animation fans rejoice! Tonight, the Music Box Theatre will host a special screening of Academy-Award nominated director Bill Plympton's newest film, Idiots and Angels.
