Jason Narducy and Alison Chesley of Verbow perform together at Schubas tonight (3159 N. Southport) for the first time in ten years. In addition to their collaboration, Narducy has played bass for Robert Pollard, Liz Phair, Bob Mould, and his current band, Telekinesis (Merge Records). Chesley has her own solo cello project called Helen Money and has played with Poi Dog Pondering, Sufjan Stevens, Broken Social Scene, and Justin Roberts. Show starts at 8pm, tickets are $15. The Gene Siskel Film Center presents the Chicago premiere of the 2009 documentary Great Directors, a look at ten of the greatest living directors. The director of the film, Angela Ismailos, will be attending today's screening. The film screens today at 2:15pm, and again on Thursday, February 3 at 8:15pm. Chicago Velo leads a bike tour of the near West Side today at 1pm. The tour will explore the area immediately west of the Loop, stopping by landmarks such as the Old Main Post Office, Union Station, the University of Illinois and Medical Triangle, Hull House, the Church of the Epiphany, and St. Ignatius Preparatory College. Learn about the area's history and get some exercise! Tickets are $9 in advance, $10 day of the ride. All riders must wear a helmet.

The Gene Siskel Film Center presents a week-long run of Claude Lanzmann's epic 1985 documentary Shoah, a 10-hour examination of the Holocaust.
