Indie Wed @ Ravenswood Event Center

If you're into planning yourself or others a DIY wedding, then don't miss out on the first midwest Indie Wed event at the Ravenswood Event Center today. There will be 90+ vendors from the Midwest and beyond over two floors, music and dance performances, food tastings, bride and groom lounges with free massages, mini manis, more. Swag bags for the first 75 pre-sale ticket-purchasers (1 per order), and for the first 50 couples in line. The event will take place from 10am-4pm at 4043 N. Ravenswood Ave. Tickets are $12 for a single admission and $18 for two tickets, and there will be a runway show as well (tickets $5).

Drinking & Writing Theater @ Haymarket Pub and Brewery

Haymarket Pub and Brewery (737 W. Randolph) wants to teach you how to get through your hangovers with their latest Drinking & Writing Theater -- Volume III: To Cure a Hangover. The show runs Saturdays at 4pm until February 5, so buy your ticket and join Sean Benjamin and Steve Mosqueda as they talk about some good ol' drinker-writers (John Cheever and Charles Bukowski anyone?) and possibly even provide you with some morning-after cures.

Guster @ the Riviera Theatre

Printapalooza @ The Block Museum

Cutting-edge independent print-makers and graphic artists from the Chicago area and around the country will show off their skills and their work at Printpalooza, a print fair and sale at Northwestern University's Mary and Leigh Block Museum of Art today. Admission is free and open to the public. Printpalooza takes place from noon to 4pm today at the Block Museum, 40 Arts Circle Drive, Evanston campus. Free parking is available. Airplane! screening @ AMC Theatres

Inspired by the success of a recent one-day-only screening of Back To The Future, AMC Theatres are doing a two-day-only screening of the 1980 classic Airplane! There's a screening today at 12:30pm, and the second screening is Tuesday, February 1 at 7pm. See the AMC Theatres Website for a list of local theatres that are screening the film.

Lyrics Born @ Abbey Pub
