The Northwest Chicago Film Society presents the 1932 film A Bill of Divorcement at the Portage Theater, 4050 N. Milwaukee Ave., tonight at 7:30pm. Admission is $5.
Lifeline Theatre holds its annual benefit party, Viva Las Lifeline!, tonight from 6:30pm to 10pm at the Chicago Cultural Center, 78 E. Washington St. Preston Bradley Hall will be transformed into a retro casino featuring blackjack, poker, craps and roulette, as well as a live auction and music by Deigo Sol and the Triple Downtowns and Heather Moran. Tickets are $125 in advance, $150 at the door. Tickets may be purchased at the Lifeline Theatre Box Office, 773-761-4477, or online.
Jazz Showcase, 806 S. Plymouth Ave., stages a tribute to jazz great Dexter Gordon tonight featuring the Glenn Burris Quartet. $10 cover for three sets, starting at 7, 9 and 11pm. 21+
Get your slurp on at this weekly fundraiser for area food-related charities tonight at the Hideout, 1354 West Wabansia, from 5:30-7:30pm. A volunteer team of chefs and bakers donate the soup and bread; you donate the money.
The Chicago Flower & Garden Show runs March 5-13 at Navy Pier. Check out landscaping displays and tabletop arrangements, learn about new products and techniques, and enjoy a bit of greenery in still-dreary March. Hours are 10am to 8pm Monday through Saturday, 10am to 6pm Sunday. Tickets are $15 weekdays, $17 weekends for adults, $5 for kids all the time. Monday through Thursday, there's a $13 after work special from 4 to 8pm.
