Windy City Burlesque Fest @ Hydrate

Windy City Burlesque Fest kicks off with a free show at Hydrate, 3458 N. Halsted St., tonight, featuring the Stage Door Johnnies and more than a dozen dancing guys and dolls. Doors open at 9pm, show starts at 10pm. 21+.

Words That Kill @ creative lounge CHICAGO

In honor of Women's History Month, "Words That Kill," Lethal Poetry's monthly comedy and poetry showcase, will feature an all-female line-up. Tonight, ChicagoLive! celebrates St. Patrick's Day with Irish singer and musician Paddy Homan, former Irish Queen and "Chicago's Irish Diva" Catherine O'Connell along with newly crowned 2011 Queen, Sarah Gorecki; and country music artist Robbie Fulks. The Next Objectivists is a free, open-to-the-public poetry & poetics workshop dedicated to the study & reproduction of the outside-real. Mess Hall's Winter/Spring seminar (tonight) focuses on the reproduction of specific aesthetic effects related to objectivism in modern & contemporary short fiction and poetry.
