Zombie Prom

Get your your tux and fake blood, it's time for Zombie Prom at Vision Night Club, 640 N. Dearborn Ave. Dance with the ghouls to DJ Daena and a live zombie band, get your prom photos taken by the never more appropriately named GlitterGuts, enjoy the zombie themed buffet and drinks at the bar and vote for your Zombie Queen and King. Make the Case @ Open Books

Open Books is holding Make the Case, their first ever bookcase decorating contest where literature-loving teams will turn ordinary bookshelves into artistic masterpieces. Tickets to the event are $35 and include appetizers, drink, a discount coupon, a chance to vote in the People's Choice winner and more. At the end of the event, judges Jonathan Messinger, Patrick Somerville, and Amy Guth will award prizes to the bookcases that best convey the theme. The week following the event, Open Books will fill the bookcases with books and donate them to other local nonprofit organizations. 6pm-9pm at Enclave, 213 W. Institute Pl. LUCKY 13: Give Back, Shake Your Backside

Reunion and the Auxiliary Board of Chicago are pleased to present LUCKY 13 party, joining local residents Phil Free Art andDJ Misfit, along with Reunion resident and Bay Area import Papa Tony with headliner Robot Bomb Shelter of San Francisco. LUCKY 13 will be fighting musical superstition, and removing hexes through dance and art, with a percentage of the door and all raffle proceeds benefiting the Association House of Chicago. 1375 W. Lake St., 8pm.

DJ Misfit and Papa Tony will get the groove established with a mix of house, breaks, techno and drum 'n bass, leading up to headliner Robot Bomb Shelter, a Bay Area controllerist who will write his set live, inspired by the ever-changing energy in the room. Phil Free Art's live art studio will be operating during the performances, and his art will be raffled off with other awesome shiny things with all raffle proceeds benefiting Chicago's own Association House of Chicago, who have been creating opportunity in the community for over 110 years.

Chicago Street Art Show

The Chicago Urban Art Society, 2229 S. Halsted St., hosts an exhibition featuring some of the leading artists in Chicago's street art scene, including Nick Adam, Oscar Arriola, Artillery, Bonus Saves, Juan Angel Chavez, CLS, CRO, Cyro, Chris Diers, Don't Fret, Emen, 80 Legs, Tom Fennell IV, Brooks Golden, Goons, The Grocer, Cody Hudson, "It's Yours, Take It," Klepto Salem, Melt, Poor Kid, Safety First, Saro, Senor Codo, Sighn, Chris Silva, Solve, Tiptoe, The Viking, You Are Beautiful and more. VISITORS Book Launch @ ISR Pop-Up Gallery

One year after taking a photograph of every visitor gracing his Pilsen studio, Chicago-based music and fashion photographer Kyle La Mere is launching his first self-published book of work tonight at his IshootRockstars pop-up gallery (1823 S. Halsted). Named one of Chicago's Hottest 30 Under 30, La Mere's limited-edition VISITORS books feature more than 300 portraits of all types (from musicians, to plumbers, to designers to dogs) and is a true testament to the uniqueness of the Chicago community, as well as the style of La Mere's work. If you want your own copy, they're $30 online. The event runs from 6pm to 10pm.
