A benefit party and Dance Films Kino, an upcoming festival of dance cinema, invades Parlour, 6341 N. Clark St., tonight from 7pm till 2am. Enjoy music spun by local DJs, learn more about the festival and bid on some neat items in a silent auction. Free, 21+.
Tonight, come out for a special happy hour that benefits Rock for Kids, a non-profit that provides music education for at-risk youth in Chicago. The event, sponsored by Stimulus Social Club along with Rock for Kids, will be hosted at Old Town Social at 455 W. North Ave. (1 block west of the Sedgwick Brown Line stop) and runs from 5:30 to 9pm. Arrive early and receive a free drink and appetizers between 6 and 7pm. Your $10 donation at the door goes to Rock for Kids programming. See the invite online, and you can also RSVP on Facebook.
The Encyclopedia Show ends its 2010-2011 season with a show about Christmas. See it at the Vittum Theater, 1012 N. Noble St., tonight at 7:30pm. Tickets are $8, $5 for students.
