The three-night experimental music festival known as the Neon Marshmallow Fest concludes tonight at the Empty Bottle (1035 N. Western). Among the final night's highlights: The Rita, Telecult Powers, Mike Shiflet, Pulse Emitter, Tiger Hatchery, and electronic music pioneer Morton Subotnick in a rare live performance. The Chicago chapter of the women-only Dance Dance Party Party are holding a co-ed dance to raise money to help provide transitional housing for the many people impacted by the recent tornadoes in Alabama. The Black Twig Pickers hail from Blacksburg, Virginia and recently signed to Thrill Jockey Records, the Black Twig Pickers are making a rare tour out to the midwest to play at the Hideout tonight. Head on over and enjoy an intimate show with a stellar old timey trio. There's a $5-$10 suggested donation at the door, and the band Northside Southpaws will open up the evening at 6pm.
