The Chicago Public Library and the Philippine Consulate General bring an evening of kundiman songs, traditional Philippine love songs to celebrate the sesquicentennial of the birth of Filipino national hero Dr. Jose P. Rizal. Kundiman: An Evening of Filipino Classic Song is free, with no reservations required. The program runs from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. Cindy Pritzker Auditorium at Harold Washington Library Center, 400 S. State Street.
If you too are skeptical of the food truck hype, you may want to head to the northwest corner of North and Halsted tonight between 4pm and 7pm for Food Truck Tuesdays. At least four trucks will be there every Tuesday in June.
