transmit/transmute : Adrian Moens @ Comfort Station

Bringing together sound, sculpture, video, writing and painting with a heavy dash of New Age poeticism, Adrian Moens' installation at Comfort Station displays an eye for performance, dabbling in many mediums but retaining a sense of interconnectedness. Opens tonight at 7pm (lasts til 10pm), 2579 N. Milwaukee Ave. Runs through 7/24.

Vintage Heaven United We Buy Sale @ Heaven Gallery

Heaven Gallery (1550 N. Milwaukee Ave.) hosts a two-day vintage sale, featuring local vendors including Dethrose Vintage, Lipstick Dinosaur, and the adorably named Penguiny Vintage. 12-6pm.

Fork and the Road Tours: Ice-Cycle

Fork and the Road Tours leads today's bike-guided tour of several of the city's best ice cream and gelato joints. Event runs 11:00am-3:30pm and starts/ends at Kitchen Sink Cafe, 1107 West Berwyn. Tickets $50.

Haley Bonar @ Hideout

Haley Bonar plays the Hideout, 1354 W. Wabansia Ave., tonight, with Holcombe Waller opening. Show starts at 9pm, tickets are $10 in advance or at the door. 21+

The 2nd Annual Great Midwest Ukefest

The organizers of Chicago Ukulele Cabaret, the occasional ukulele open-mike night, presents their second annual Great Midwest Ukefest, happening today at Chief O'Neil's (3471 N. Elston). The event kicks off at 11am with a special kids concert featuring music by Little Miss Ann, continues with an open mike section from 1pm to 6pm, and concludes with a series of featured performers starting at 6:30pm. Tickets are $10 and are available through Brown Paper Tickets. Proceed go to benefit the Intonation Music Workshop, a local nonprofit dedicated to providing music education to Chicago children in under-served neighborhoods. American Music Festival

Fitzgerald's, 6615 W. Roosevelt Rd. in Berwyn, hosts the 31st annual American Music Festival July 1-3, with music on three stages. Doors open at noon today; tonight's lineup includes Whitey Morgan and the 78s, Bottle Rockets, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band and Tributosaurus as the Neville Brothers, among many others -- check the site for full listings. Admission is $30 each day, with an early bird discount of $5 off for the first hour each day. Children 12 and under are welcomed until 9pm for $5 each. Three-day passes are available in advance for $75; no single-day advance tickets will be sold.

Salted Caramel Pop-up Shop

Candy makers Salted Caramel open a "pop-up pop shoppe" in Espresso Thy Art, 4019 N. Damen Ave., from noon to 4pm today. They'll be debuting their new line of frozen treats, and will also have doggy desserts on hand for your canine friend. Free.

Horseshoes & Hot Dogs @ Bangers & Lace

Bangers & Lace is hosting its own backyard barbeque, all weekend long. Friday through Monday, they'll have horseshoe pits and $1 hot dogs, plus a fine selection of American beers. Friday through Monday, 12pm-5pm.
