Robbie Fulks' Pseudo-Open Stage @ Hideout

The Hideout presents a pre-fireworks cookout and pseudo-open state, hosted by Hideout regular Robbie Fulks. Anyone who has played the Monday night Hideout series is invited to come and play. No donation or charge for the event! The show starts at 7pm. Hideout: 1354 W. Wabansia. (773) 227-4433.

Cold Soup'n'Bread for a Hot(house) Cause

Martha Bayne was upset by the damage done to Garfield Park Conservatory and decided to revive her fabulous Soup'n'Bread event tonight as a fundraiser for the park. She'll feature chilly souper dishes from Swim Cafe, Inspiration Cafe, Bonnie Tawse, Anastasia Davies Hinchsliff, and more beginning at 6pm at The Hideout (1354 W. Wabansia). All donations will be donated to the rebuilding efforts.

Fourth of July @ Chicago History Museum

The Chicago History Museum's 52nd annual Fourth of July Event features guest speaker Congressman Mike Quigley, musical performances, a reading of the Declaration of Independence, and a kids' costume parade lead by the World's Tallest Uncle Sam. Admission is free to all outdoor activities. Chicago History Museum, 1601 N. Clark St., (312) 642-4600. 10am-12pm.

Horseshoe Tournament & Hot Dogs @ Bangers & Lace

Bangers & Lace is hosting its own backyard barbeque and horseshoe tournament, complete with $1 hot dogs and a fine selection of American beers to help improve your game. The Tournament begins at 12pm sharp in the backyard of B&L.

Pig Roast @ Oak Street Beach Restaurant

If you're feeling brave to face the crowds at the Lake, Oak Street Beach Restaurant is also roasting a hog and serving sugarcane-melon margaritas, all-you-can style for $30. Monday 2-6pm.

Pig Picnic @ Longman & Eagle

Longman & Eagle is roasting a whole Slagel Farm hog, Cuban style, on their patio for the stragglers left in the city. They'll be serving corn on the cob, bacon, spring onion potato salad, baked beans & coleslaw for $20 a person, excluding beverages (though I'm sure Jared will have something delightfully patriotic up his sleeve). Begins today at 5pm.
