Fillet of Solo Festival presents Life in a Marital Institution @ Mayne Stage

Today is the last day for the 15th annual Fillet of Solo Festival, featuring James Braly in Life in a Marital Institution. This piece premiered at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, had a sold-out run at 59E59 Theaters in New York City, before transferring Off-Broadway to critical raves at the Soho Playhouse. This is the only performance of this piece during the Fillet of Solo Festival. Show starts 5pm at the Mayne Stage (1328 W. Morse Avenue). A Sustainable Reality Kickstarter Fundraiser Party 2.0

In order to reach their goal of $11,000 by midnight (central time) on August 12 A Sustainable Reality is hosting one final Kickstarter bonanza tonight from 5pm to 10pm at The New Chicago Brewing Company, 1400 W. 46th St., the soon-to-be sustainable brewery that operates within The Plant located in the Back of the Yards on the South Side. They will be providing live entertainment all evening long via a large eclectic ensemble of local bands and artists. Booze and food will be served all night, complimentary with ticket purchase. Tickets are $20.

Salted Caramel Pop-up Shoppe

Confectioner Salted Caramel once again takes over Espresso Thy Art, 4019 N. Damen Ave., for a pop-up sweet shop today from noon to 4pm. Sample caramels, gourmet popsicles and sundaes -- plus face painting and other fun stuff for the kids.
