Lakeview East Festival of the Arts

The Lakeview East Festival of the Arts runs Saturday and today on Broadway Avenue from Belmont to Roscoe. View works by more than 150 artists, enjoy food and music and browse the shops along the corridor. The festival runs from 10am to 5pm today. $5 suggested donation. Here's the music schedule:

German-American Festival

Lincoln Square's 91st annual German-American Festival runs Friday through today at the intersection of Lincoln, Leland and Western, featuring German music, dancing and, of course, beer. The festival runs from noon to 10pm today. Admission is free.

Renegade Craft Fair

The Renegade Craft Fair returns to its home town this weekend, with more than 300 vendors selling their wares on Division Street between Damen and Paulina from 11am to 7pm Saturday and today. Free.

A.V. Fest @ The Hideout

The A.V. Club host their first-ever music festival, featuring Hum, Archers of Loaf, The Thermals, Tokyo Police Club, Maps & Atlases, and half a dozen others. $10 suggested donation at the door, from noon to 10 at The Hideout, 1354 W. Wabansia Ave. Also Sep 11.

The Chicago Way Reading Series

The Chicago Way is a new reading series that focuses on Chicago authors. Local authors Michael Burke, Geoff Hyatt, Patricia Ann McNair, and Megan Stielstra read from their new novel or story collections. Tonight at the The Hidden Shamrock, 2723 N Halsted, 7pm.

Two With Water: TMI @ Beauty Bar

TWW presents TMI: Totally, Maybe, I Don't Know at Beauty Bar (1444 W. Chicago Ave.) tonight. At 7pm, the reading series starts with a quick open mic, then moves onto stories from Gina Frangello, Lindsay Hunter, Muyassar Kurdi, Ben Tanzer, Richard Thomas, and Brandon Tietz.

Chicago Bears Season Opener
