As part of their Poetry Off the Shelf series, Chilean poet Raúl Zurita will read tonight at the Poetry Foundation (61 W. Superior), beginning at 7pm. Admission is free!
Chen's Chinese and Sushi martini experts will be hosting a class on mixing sake-martinis this evening from 6:30pm to 8pm. Students will learn how to make some of Chen's distinctive martinis that include the classic Japanese ingredient of sake. Throughout the evening Chen's will also offer hors d'oeuvres while everyone is working on their mixology. Some of the featured martinis of the night include Pear Sake Martinis, Ginger Sake Martinis and also a "students choice." Tickets are $20 per person and include sampling of five martinis and an array of hors d'oeuvres. Reservations are required. 3506 N. Clark St. (773) 549-9100.
Write Club Chapter 18 is upon us. This time themes and writers facing off will be:
