Miami's Jacuzzi Boys do not exactly sound as their name implies. The garage rock trio is raucous and catchy, with short songs that carry a serious wallop, a little like Smith Westerns. Intonation Music Workshop holds a gala fundraiser at the Alhambra Palace, 1240 W. Randolph St., tonight from 6pm to 10pm. Enjoy an open bar, dinner and live performances by IMW students and The Autumn Defense, featuring members of Wilco. The evening will also include a silent auction.
The DuSable Museum of African American History, 740 E. 56th Pl., presents "Bringing the Outsiders In: The World of Intuitive Art," tonight from 5pm to 8pm. Moderated by Chicago artist Candace Hunter, this panel discussion, held in conjunction with the museum's "Charles Smith: Homecoming" exhibit, will focus on the history, culture and impact of "outsider art." The panel includes Chicago artists Carl Hammer and Patric McCoy, along with Charles Smith. This event is free with museum admission; for more information, call 773-947-0600.
