Labyrinth & Stand By Me @ Music Box
The Music Box Theatre presents a special double feature: Stand By Me and Labyrinth, both films celebrating their 25th anniversary this year. BYOB @ MCA
BYOB -- Bring Your Own Beamer -- is an international art exhibition featuring multiple simultaneous video projections. The Chicago edition is happening tonight at the Museum of Contemporary Art, 220 E. Chicago Ave., from 6pm to 8pm as part of the museum's new Internet Superheroes series. Free with museum admission.
Trentemøller @ Metro
Trentemøller has been a standout at numerous music festivals this year, notably Ultra and Coachella in the US, where his mesmerizing live performance wowed audiences on this side of the pond that are finally catching up to this Danish minimal electronic DJ/producer. His newest release Remixed / Reworked will be out in early November. Trentemøller headlines Metro. Xylos and Afrobeta open at 9PM. The show's 18+, $16 in advance and $18 at the door. Rise of the Stripping Dead
The Admiral Theater, 3940 W. Lawrence Ave., has brought back its Night of the Stripping Dead zombie burlesque -- and this year it's on four nights, Oct. 18-21. Each night will feature a slightly different lineup of performers, beginning at 9pm. There's also a zombie stripper costume contest, and several of the city's food trucks will be parked outside for nourishment. Tickets are $35, or $50 for VIP seating with a t-shirt and signed poster.
