Soup and Bread Cookbook Launch Party @ the Hideout

The Hideout's very own Wednesday night soup-kitchen-party has got another reason to celebrate. Soup and Bread is holding a party to celebrate the release of Soup and Bread Cookbook: Building Community One Bowl At A Time tonight from 7pm-9pm. They'll have soups from West Town Tavern, Swim Cafe, the Butcher & Larder, Milk & Honey Cafe and Mana Food Bar. Plus bread from La Farine and musc from DJ Mike Bulington.

Copies of the cookbook will be available and as always, proceeds will benefit the Greater Chicago Food Depository.

Honest Meal Project Farm-to-Table Dinner

The Honest Meal Project hosts its first farm-to-table dinner tonight from 6:30pm to 10:30pm at Experimental Station, 6100 S. Blackstone Ave. The three-course dinner will feature ingredients from local farms, and will be paired with Midwestern wines. Tickets are $50. Children age 10 and up welcome.

Reading Under the Influence: Truth

Reading Under the Influence brings you the Truth (that's this month's theme). Wednesday, November 2nd the theme will be tackled by Scott Whitehair (host of This Much Is True), Jill Summers (recent winner of Literary Death Match), John Wawrzaszek (host of Two Cookie Minimum reading series) and Cortez Bryson (writer and jazz musician).
