OutLoud Chicago presents Queer Comedy at Zanies, 1548 N. Wells St., tonight at 9:30pm. Adam Guerino hosts an evening featuring LA's Kyle Shire and local comedians Tamale Sepp, Joel Kim Booster, Caitlin Bergh and Homer Marrs. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door, plus a two drink/food minimum. 21+
For 65 years, the University of Chicago Hillel has been the host for an important annual debate on the relative merits of the latke vs. the hamantash. This year's debate is tonight at 7:30pm in Mandell Hall, 1131 E. 57th St. Watch professors Richard Rosengarten, Malynne Sternstein and Tobias Moskowitz in a battle of wit and rhetoric, with Prof. Ted Cohen as moderator. Queer Comedy at Zanies is a monthly showcase of the best queer comics in Chicago. Winners of Octobers Queer Comedy (contest) at Zanies make their Zanies debut alongside visiting L.A. comic Kyle Shire and local queer comic Tamale Sepp.
Doors open at 9pm at Zanies Comedy Club (1548 N Wells). Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door. Audience members must be ages 21 or over.
Tonight beginning at 7pm, Nacional 27 (located at 325 W. Huron) will host a dinner party dedicated to the Cuban "rum revolution." Guests will start the evening off with a 30-minute rum cocktail mixology class and tapas, followed by a three-course Cuban inspired dinner at 7:30pm.
