Great Society Mind Destroyers @ Empty Bottle

Chicago's Great Society Mind Destroyers have been abusing eardrums with their heavy psychedelic rock for a while now. (Remember, this is a band that was equally as loud as A Place to Bury Strangers earlier this year.) Tonight marks the release of their first full-length, Spirit Smoke. (Please bring your earplugs.) Rodeo, Velocicopter and T'Bone open. The show's 21+, starts at 9PM, is free with RSVP or $8 without. The Empty Bottle's at 1035 N Western.

Stephanie Izard Book Signing @ Whole Foods Lincoln Park

The chef and author will be signing copies of her new book Girl in the Kitchen at the 1550 Wine Bar at the Lincoln Park Whole Foods (1550 N Kingsbury) tonight from 630-8:30pm.

Winter Ball @ Chicago Children's Museum

The Chicago Children's Museum at Navy Pier, welcomes kids of all ages to brush up on their three counts and learn to waltz today at its Winter Ball. The dance begins at 2pm and is free with museum admission.
