JC Brooks and the Uptown Sound @ Schubas
Schubas hosts a two-night series of concerts by JC Brooks and the Uptown Sound. Tonight's show is an 18+ show that starts at 10pm. Tickets are $12 in advance and $30 at the door. Eliza Frye @ Challengers Comics
Tonight, Eliza Frye signs her new graphic novel, Regalia, at Challengers Comics + Conversation. Regalia is a collection of short stories, one of which was nominated for an Eisner Award. Derik Badman of COMIXTALK says "Frye has a powerful style. I had an immediate, almost visceral reaction to the images." There will be a reading, a display of Frye's paintings and baked goods for refreshments. Challengers Comics + Conversation, 1845 N. Western, at 6pm.
The Sleepers @ Double Door
The Sleepers headline a $1 show at the Double Door, 1572 N. Milwaukee Ave., tonight. Mawrcrest and Circus Bear open. Doors open at 8:30pm. 21+
Eve of the Eve @ Union Station
The 18th annual Eve of the Eve gala will be held in Union Station's Great Hall, 500 W. Jackson Blvd., tonight at 8pm. Welcoming more than 2,000 of the city's young professionals, the black-tie optional event's proceeds will benefit the HighSight fun, which provides scholarships, tutoring, and mentoring for high school students. Tickets are available at $125 in advance or $140 at the door. 21+
The Hood Internet @ Lincoln Hall
Their New Year's Eve show is sold out, but there are still some tickets for The Hood Internet's 10pm show tonight at Lincoln Hall, 2424 N. Lincoln Ave. Driftless Pony Club and Team Bayside High open. Tickets are $15 in advance or at the door. 18+
