"Quad Core," a group art exhibition of works by Theodore Darst, Paul Hertz, Selena Jones and Sabina Ott, holds an opening reception tonight at 23 E. Madison Ave. from 5pm to 8pm. Kimberly Kim's Book Club will also make its debut at the reception. The exhibition, which is part of the Pop-up Art Loop series, runs through March 10. Free.
Journalist and Soup and Bread creator Martha Bayne appears at Quimby's (1854 W North) tonight at 7pm to chat about the weekly soup-eating charity event's recently published cookbook.
Doc Films, Max Palevsky Cinema in Ida Noyes Hall at The University of Chicago, 1212 E. 59th St., pairs with WHPK to present a series titled "Roxploitation." Tonight's screening is Foxes, starring young Jodie Foster and Scott Baio, at 9:15pm. Tickets are $5.
