Want to do Mardi Gras right in Chicago? For $25 Cactus Bar and Grill is hosting its second annual crawfish-eating contest at 6 p.m. tonight. (Think beer pong with tasty crustaceans). And if eating mud bugs are not your thing, munch on $10 shrimp po'boys, $12 crawfish boils, $6 bowls of crawfish gumbo and $5 pints of Abita beer. Take it from a fellow Cajun who's been doing this since she was old enough to reach the picnic table -- finger speed, not pace, is all that matters (and forgo sucking the head, it's totally gross). All proceeds will go to benefit the Habitat for Humanity of New Orleans. (Register at DontDrinkAndTrade.com.) 404 S. Wells St 312-922-3830 .
Kyle Thiessen didn't win the Museum of Science & Industry's "Month at the Museum" contest, so he decided to create his own museum, recording its strange and interesting exhibits in an online episodic adventure called Fake Month at the Museum. Tonight at 7pm at A Red Orchid Theater, 1531 N. Wells St., Theissen will screen all the episodes and debut a new one -- plus there'll be interactive trivia games, quizzes and more. Tickets $10 at the door; proceeds will support A Red Orchid Theater. More details on Facebook.
