Steppenwolf Theatre Company hosts a conversation between journalist, author and former New York Times theater critic Frank Rich and Steppenwolf Artistic Director Martha Lavey tonight at 7pm in the Downstairs Theater, 1650 N. Halsted St. The conversation will touch on issues inspired by Steppenwolf's season theme, "Dispatches from the Homefront"; following the conversation, the audience will have the opportunity to ask questions of Rich and Lavey. Tickets are $10 online or at the Steppenwolf box office.
Sean Monroe and B. Self host Somethin' Nutty, a new Monday night comedy series at the Subterranean, 2011 W. North Ave., starting tonight. Doors at 8pm, show at 9pm. No cover, 21+.
Wicker park experimental music space Enemy (1550 N. Milwaukee Ave., 3rd floor) reels and congeals tonight with four explosive noise sets, three from out of town touring bands. Bob Bellerue, best known for his Redglaer project, re-emerges as Diablo, while Isa Christ represents the heavenly side, and Mister Matthews balances it out for us terrestrial beings.
