Quintron & Miss Pussycat @ Empty Bottle

Some things are eternal, and this is one of them: Quintron & Miss Pussycat emerge from their New Orleans lair and make what must be the 90,000th appearance at the Empty Bottle. Things to expect: killer organ sounds by Quintron, a puppet show by Miss Pussycat, and dancing dancing dancing. Also on the bill: Pierced Arrows; Don't; and Sir DJ. The fun cavalcade starts at 10pm, so don't be late. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased in advance at the Empty Bottle Website.

Andrew Bird @ The Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University

Andrew Bird is performing on May 12 at the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University. Mucca Pazza opens. The show starts at 8pm. Tickets range from $39 to $60 after service charges. Andrew's offering a bundle of his new album Break it Yourself, a live EP, and a ticket on AndrewBird.net.

Beast Women @ Greenhouse Theater

Beast Women, now in its fifth season, is a cabaret-style show that features some of the best female talent in Chicago. It runs Saturday nights at 10:30pm April 7-May 12 in the Greenhouse Theater Downstairs Main Stage, 2257 N. Lincoln Ave. Tickets are $15, available online or at the box office.

Chicago Force vs. W. Michigan Mayhem

The Chicago Force women's pro football team plays the West Michigan Mayhem at 5pm today at Lazier Field at Evanston High School, 2285 Church St. in Evanston. Tickets are $10/$3 for children and seniors.

Chicago Art Girls Pop-Up

The Chicago Art Girls, an informal support group for independent female artists, holds a pop-up show at Helium Gallery, 4710 N. Ravenswood Ave., from 11am to 5pm. Browse more than 35 local artisans while enjoying snacks and beverages. Free; more info on Facebook.

Bike Tour of Near West Side

Big Shoulders Realty and Chicago Velo lead a bike tour of the Near West Side today starting at 11am at Union Park, 1501 W. Randolph St. Learn about the neighborhood while enjoying a leisurely ride. Tickets are $9 online or $10 in person.

Arcade Brewery Fundraising Event @ Threadless Headquarters

New local brewery Arcade Brewery hosts their first fundraising event tonight at the Threadless Headquarters (1260 West Madison). Running in conjunction with their Kickstarter campaign, this fundraiser includes a dj set by Martin Atkins; performances by Ones Bent to Zero, Prom Band, and sketch comedy group Comedy Think Tank; and haircuts from Rock Razors Scissors. Guests may bring their own beer for a "beer potluck." A suggested donation of $20 goes toward startup costs for the brewery and the event runs from 7 to 11pm. 21+.

The Late Live Show @Stage 773

Taking the classic talk show format and giving it with a contemporary sensibility, The Late Live Show has everything you'd see in a late night show. Previous runs have included guests like Danny Pudi from NBC's Community, Olympic gold medalist Shani Davis, and director of Hoop Dreams and The Interrupters, Steve James.

Shows are every Saturday for six weeks, beginning April 21 at Stage 773 (1225 West Belmont). Tickets are $5 and can be purchased here, or at the door.

Blues Fest Pre-Season Concert @ Woodson Regional Library

The Woodson Regional Library, 9525 S. Halsted, presents a "Blues Fest Pre-Season Concert," today from 12:15pm-1:15pm. Held in conjunction with the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, this free concert, featuring the sounds of Chicago's own Kenny 'Big Eyes' Smith, Lil' Frank, and Mud Morganfield, serves as a prelude to the Chicago Blues Festival, which will be held June 8-10 in Grant Park. Pearl and the Beard @ Schubas 5/12

LA-based noise musician John Wiese performs a 4-channel stereo composition as part of Lampo's Spring series. The event starts tonight at 8 p.m. at the Graham Foundation's Madlener House (4 W. Journey to the End of Night

Journey to the End of Night, a nighttime urban chase game, kicks off tonight at 6:30pm in the Humboldt Park Formal Gardens, 1440 N. Sacramento Ave. There will be a 21+ party after the final checkpoint, around midnight. Free.

Collect-O-Rama

Intuit: the Center for Intuitive and Outsider Art presents Collect-O-Rama, a sort of garage sale for collectors of outsider and folk art, today from 10am to 4pm at the Pulaski Park Fieldhouse, 1419 W. Blackhawk St. Free.

The People's Summit

The People's Summit is a two-day forum for "community groups, labor unions, anti-racist organizers, Occupy activists, environmentalists, faith leaders, immigrant rights activists and anyone else committed to social justice," taking place at Occupy Chicago Headquarters, 500 W. Cermak Rd., from 9am to 9pm May 12-13. Attendance is free, but donations are encouraged. Full schedule here.

Quimby's Bridgeport Pop Up @ 755 W. 32nd

This weekend Quimby's, the legendary North Side comic/books/zine shop, will be opening a pop up shop in Bridgeport. They'll be one of many pop ups participating in Version Fest 12. Quimby's Bridgeport can be found at 755 W. 32nd Street, 11am-6pm.
