Alphaville @ Logan Square

The Logan Square International Film Series continues its spring season with an outdoor presentation of Godard's Alphaville at the Logan Square Comfort Station, 2579 N. Milwaukee Ave., tonight at 8pm. Free, but donations accepted.

Bailout @ Music Box

Bailout, a documentary about the US financial crisis, makes its Chicago debut tonight at 8pm at the Music Box Theatre, 3733 N. Southport Ave. Stars John Titus, John Fox, Ruben Castillo, Sergio Mayora and Nicole Erhardt, director Sean Fahey and producer Kevin Schroeder will be in attendance. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door.

Story Lab @ Black Rock

Story Lab stands apart from other series in the city in its accessibility and unmitigated audience support for the performers. Join storytellers and story lovers at the Black Rock Pub, 3614 N. Damen Ave., where each month, an entirely different lineup of up-and-coming storytellers share their freshest pieces. This month's readers include: Laura Hawbaker, Cyrus Irani, Emily Johnson, Erin Kahoa, Monte LaMonte, and Sondra Morin. Hosted by Scott Whitehair of the reading series This Much is True. Bound for Glory @ Portage Theater

Tonight at 7:30pm, the Northwest Chicago Film Society screens Hal Ashby's Woody Guthrie biopic Bound for Glory at the Portage Theater, 4050 N. Milwaukee Ave. Their classic film series continues every Wednesday. Admission is $5.

Polyphonic Spree @ Park West

It's one thing to hear a Polyphonic Spree album. It's another thing to experience the group live with its energetic choir and range of symphonic instruments meshing into spirited songs. They headline Park West, 322 W. Armitage Ave., tonight at 7:30pm. Sweet Lee Morrow opens. Tickets are $20.

100 Years of Studs Terkel

Studs Terkel — author, historian, radio host and listener extraordinaire — may be gone, but his legacy of the importance of listening and the power of the human voice has inspired one heck of a party. Today, the 100th anniversary of his birth, the Newberry Library, 60 W. Walton St., will host a birthday party to celebrate "one of the most prolific writers and cultural critics in the history of Chicago letters." 5:30pm reception; 6pm program. Free.

Ride of Silence

The Ride of Silence honors cyclists who have been killed or injured while riding their bikes. The ride departs from the eternal flame in Daley Plaza at 7pm (begin congregating there at 6pm) and goes past many of the ghosts bikes around the city. Free; more details here.

YCA @ WBEZ

Young Chicago Authors has teamed up with WBEZ for a series of discussions exploring the Chicago aesthetic and how teachers can integrate YCA teaching methods of hip-hop poetic/prose workshops in their classrooms. There will be a series of three talks. The first is tonight at the WBEZ West Side Community Bureau, 2531 W. Division at 6pm. Free, but reservations are recommended (click here to reserve).
