The Logan Square International Film Series continues its spring season with an outdoor presentation of Blade Runner at the Logan Square Comfort Station, 2579 N. Milwaukee Ave., tonight at 8pm. Free, but donations accepted.
Tonight at 7:30pm, the Northwest Chicago Film Society screens Lewis Milestone's Captain Hates the Sea at the Portage Theater, 4050 N. Milwaukee Ave. Their classic film series continues every Wednesday. Admission is $5.
Spektral Quartet and High Concept Laboratories present Theatre of War, an evening of music, film, performance and poetry on the subject of war. The event happens tonight and tomorrow night at 7:30pm at the Chopin Theatre building (1543 W. Division). Tickets are $30, or $20 for students with ID, and can be purchased through the Spektral Quartet's Website.
Uncommon Ground serves up a slow food bounty to benefit the members of Slow Food Chicago who are attending the annual Terra Madre conference in Italy tonight at their Devon location, 1401 West Devon. Young Chicago Authors has teamed up with WBEZ for a series of discussions exploring the Chicago aesthetic and how teachers can integrate YCA teaching methods of hip-hop poetic/prose workshops in their classrooms.
