A Katherine Dunham Tribute @ Harold Washington Library

The Harold Washington Library, 400 S. State St., presents "A Katherine Dunham Tribute," today at 12:15pm. Part of the "Dancing in the Library" series, this free dance and musical event will feature Chicago choreographer Laurie Goux's SpiritWing Dance Ensemble, recording artist Max-A-Million and others, celebrating the legendary Dunham and her work as a pioneer of African-American dance and theater. Gumbo Fiction Salon @ Galway Arms

Chrome Chicago 1 Year Anniversary

Do312 Two-Year Birthday Bash

To thank their users and kick off the 2012 summer of music in Chicago, Do312 is throwing themselves a party and we're all on the list. Innvervation Dance Coop @ Prop Thtr

The Innervation Dance Cooperative performs Of One Mind, an original dance inspired by the life of Truddi Chase, a woman diagnosed with over 90 personalities as a result of years of abuse, at the Prop Thtr, 3502 N. Elston Ave., June 20-24. Tonight's performance is at 8pm, and tickets are $20 per person, or $15 for students and seniors.

Japandroids @ Lincoln Hall

Vancouver garage/noise duo Japandroids play a lot in Chicago and always deliver fantastically raw shows. Their sophomore album Celebration Rock follows up in the same style as their blistering debut. Japandroids headline Lincoln Hall, 2424 N. Lincoln Ave. The show starts at 9pm. It's 21+ and $15.
